Electric Boiler Hydraulic Pressure Test

Hydraulic pressure test

All electric boilers, superheaters, coal economizers, and their processed parts included in the scope of the hydraulic test. The boilers processed on the fixed equipment are transported to the installation site in separate parts, components, and assemblies, so a hydraulic test must be carried out at the installation site. The purpose of the hydraulic test is to check the density and strength of all parts of the electric boiler, superheater, and coal economizer. All other weldments must also be subjected to a hydraulic test.

1. All furnace tubes, welded, cast, special-shaped components and parts, and all steel bars that have not been hydrostatically tested at the processing site. The hydraulic test of the above parts is not necessary, if they have done 100% ultrasonic inspection or other similar non-destructive inspections.

2. If the electric boiler components are assembled (that is, the connecting pipes, furnace pipes, surface heating assemblies and pipelines, etc.) that are the same as the boiler and the header). The water pressure test of the header and pipeline assembly may not be done if they and their components have been subjected to a water pressure test or a 100% ultrasonic test, or other similar non-destructive tests. When completing the processing of these assembled parts, the welded parts shall be inspected with non-destructive flaw detection (ultrasonic or radiographic) on the entire length.

3. Boilers, superheaters and coal economizers after processing or installation;

At the same time, separate parts and combined parts are allowed to undergo hydrostatic test together with the electric boiler, if the hydrostatic test cannot be performed separately from the boiler during reprocessing or installation.
